For the COP28 climate summit in Dubai, we collaborated with IOM to support their Diaspora for Climate (D4C) initiative, which highlights the critical role diaspora communities play in addressing climate change both in their countries of origin and places of residence.
Our work encompassed two key elements: first, creating a distinctive brand identity for the D4C initiative that would connect diaspora members from Jamaica, Ghana, Bangladesh, and the Republic of Moldova with key stakeholders and audiences; and second, producing a short animated film to be showcased at COP28. The animation needed to tell real-life stories illustrating how diaspora groups are actively supporting climate action and local resilience, while reflecting the broader impact of climate change on human mobility.
The D4C branding was created to represent the four countries involved in this unique diaspora programme. The number “4” is formed using four distinct coloured sections, each symbolising one of the participating countries. The letters and numbers are intentionally intertwined to convey a sense of connectivity, collaboration, and interaction, reflecting the shared purpose and unity at the heart of the programme.
We designed a logo that clearly represents the full title and acronym of Diaspora for Climate Action (D4C), incorporating visual elements that resonate with the four focus countries and align with IOM’s official branding guidelines. Alongside the brand identity, we produced a detailed set of brand guidelines and a suite of communication assets—including website banners, social media kits, exhibition leaflets, and branded merchandise—to enhance project visibility and engagement.
For the animation, our objectives included bringing to life three authentic stories from diaspora members, integrating their voiceovers, and using a positive, engaging animation style to highlight diaspora-driven climate initiatives. Effective project management was key, as we coordinated with multiple contributors and delivered the final film on a tight schedule.
It’s been such a pleasure to work with you, thank you for your patience, high standards and attention to detail all the way through. We were delighted with the design and programme and thought the whole event felt much more branded this year – in the best way.

The result is the creation of the D4C brand identity, which has received positive feedback from stakeholders and has significantly boosted awareness and engagement across digital platforms. The accompanying short animated film, titled Climate Champions Across Borders, successfully premiered at COP28 and was subsequently published on the IOM website and social media channels. Delivered on time and within budget, the animation has helped raise vital awareness about the intersection of migration and climate change and the powerful role diaspora communities play in driving climate resilience globally.
